Bunking Host Assurance Program

Bunking Host Assurance Program

At Bunking, we prioritize the safety and security of our hosts. As part of our Host Assurance Program, we have incorporated several key elements into our Terms of Service and process to help protect our hosts from liability and ensure a secure environment for all users.

Understanding Host Protection Under Bunking’s Terms of Service

At Bunking, we’ve built a robust framework to support and protect our hosts. Our Terms of Service include a comprehensive hold harmless and third-party indemnity clause. This means you are safeguarded against any claims, liabilities, or damages that may arise from third-party interactions or the use of our platform. By agreeing to our Terms of Service, all users commit to indemnifying and holding harmless both Bunking and our hosts, giving you peace of mind in the event of any disputes or legal issues.

Ensuring Secure Connections Through Verification

One of the most effective ways to ensure you’re connecting with reliable and genuine guests is through our verification process. At Bunking, we verify all paid users through Stripe, a trusted third-party payment processor. Stripe conducts a thorough vetting process to confirm the identity of users before they can use their payment system. This provides an additional layer of security, as only verified individuals can make payments and join your group adventures.

In addition to payment verification, users' emails are verified when they sign up on Bunking. This dual-layer of verification helps build a secure community, giving you confidence that the individuals you’re connecting with are who they say they are.

Request to Book: A Transparent and Flexible Process

To further ensure that you’re assembling the right group, Bunking uses a request-to-book system. Here’s how you can make the most of this process:

  1. Review Profiles: When a guest sends a request to book, you have the opportunity to review their profile. Look at their previous reviews, their interests, and any other available information to gauge if they’re a good fit for your group.

  2. Communicate Directly: Feel free to ask potential guests for a video interview or to answer a set of questions. This direct communication allows you to better understand their intentions, expectations, and compatibility with your adventure.

  3. Set Clear Expectations: Ensure that guests are fully aware of the requirements and expectations of the adventure. This can include detailed descriptions of activities, schedules, and any specific rules or guidelines.

  4. Transparency is Key: Maintain transparency throughout the booking process. Clearly communicate any important details and be open to answering any questions guests might have. This builds trust and ensures everyone is on the same page.

  5. Request Additional Safety Measures: If you’re particularly concerned about safety, you can go a step further by requesting that potential guests provide a notification of a criminal background check that meets your expectations or a vulnerability police check certificate. This additional layer of verification can offer extra peace of mind.

  6. Accept When Comfortable: Only accept the booking when you feel completely comfortable with the guest. This ensures that you’re confident in the group dynamics and can look forward to a positive and enjoyable experience.

Closed & Secure Review and Rating Systems

  1. Closed Review System: Using a closed review system where only verified guests who have completed an adventure can leave reviews, ensuring authenticity.

  2. Mutual Ratings: Allowing both hosts and guests to rate and review each other, fostering mutual accountability.

Direct & Secure Two Way Closed Communication

  1. In-App Messaging: Providing a secure messaging system within the platform to keep all communications between hosts and guests private and monitored.
  2. Encrypted Data: Ensuring that all personal and financial data is encrypted and securely stored.

By following these steps and being aware of these processes, you can protect yourself as a host and ensure that you’re bringing together a great group of like-minded people. At Bunking, we’re here to support you every step of the way, helping to create secure, enjoyable, and memorable group adventures.
